had a shoot yesterday with one of my favorite models. we had a mermaid theme and I even made the crown you see her wearing out of coral, sea shells and pearls. luckily she already had the costume. we even decided to do a whole series on all the different types of water spirits/mermaids there are so expect to see us try this again. :)

had a shoot on saturday morning with a new model. we had a beautiful morning and the beach mostly to ourselves. I loved this shot of her flipping around in the water like she didnt have a care in the world. and yes, I named this after a dixie chicks song. seemed fitting. ;)

another from my visit to the Washington coast. I was hoping to find a large bleached piece of driftwood to stand in front of for this image but unfortunately there weren’t that many giant pieces and they were all pushed up against the shore in a line after the last high tide so they were also hard to get to. this rock was pretty cool so I gave it a try. goose feathers courtesy of the flock at the lake by my house. and in case you were wondering who I take a lot of my photo adventures with it’s this guy. always travel with a buddy. he’s kind of a nut but he’s also a good driver. ;) he also just got a new Canon and a bunch of new lens so you should check his stream out.

TGIF!! I have a vacation day today so I got to sleep in. it is of course raining though. :/ hopefully it will clear up later. have a great weekend ya’ll!

so I finally finished my new website!! after a month of tweeking I think it’s finished. well, maybe a couple of minor things but nothing for me to sweat. I’ve decided to offer some of my images as limited edition prints and I’m working on another photo book to be released soon. I have an awesome shoot with a new model coming up that I’m really excited about plus two client shoots, and I submitted images to a juried show for the first time a couple of weeks ago. should hear soon, fingeres crossed. been so much going on lately it’s wonderfully crazy! but tonight.. tonight I’m just gonna chill and go to bed early. TGIF tomorrow!

so I finally did an Ophelia. yes, I know everyone does them but I figured I’d try one too. what the hell. took a tip from the wonderful Marina Refur and lined my tub with black cloth for this. there is no way I’m getting into the lake this time of year! I’m pretty satisfied with this photo, but not completely so I’ll probably attempt something like this again at some point.

coming out of the 365 has proven to be a difficult adjustment for me. I sort of feel crushed by all the freedom and like I sure as hell better come up with something brilliant and amazing soon or I’ll fall off the face of the earth. doesn’t help that it’s freezing and dark and snowing outside either. >:-|

I kinda took the night off on thursday. didn’t really mean to but it happened all the same. so I’m posting another shot from my trip to Northern State Hospital. found this beautiful clear creek and I just had to step in. it was about 80 degrees that day but I tell you that water was still super cold! :)
