second selfie from last weekend. I went to Magunson Park and climbed to the top of a hill that I’d never climbed before. at the top was this tree, all split & growing in different directions. it was the only thing there so I pretty much had to take a photo with it. the climb back down was easy and the day was warm and lovely. I listend to reggae with the windows down on the drive home.

I’m very pleased to say that my image tropic of cancer is showing as part of the SKIN exhibit at Darkroom Gallery this month. stop by if you’re in the area~

I’ve really been hating my selfies for a long time now. they’re so much harder than simply taking photos of another person which I’d much rather do, hands down. but I still love the spontaneity of selfies. just taking off on your own to create something, so I vowed to get out this past weekend and shoot some selfies outside (everything inside I completely hated) and to use my 50mm. another thing I haven’t done in a while. the weather was wonderful and finally felt like Spring. it was good to be out in it.

well, here’s to gettin’ back into it. :)

I’ve had this cute dress for a while and I’ve been meaning to use it with a vintage circus theme but aquiring all the needed props and fleshing out the wardrobe means it’s been put on the back burner but the characters, especially this first one, the animal tamer, are still on my mind so I figured that I even though I want to shoot this with a model I may as well try it out myself. :) look for this theme again once I gather everything I need…

I bought this vintage communion veil for 7dollars. I love the sunburst of lace across the top but I must admit to it being difficult to work with because it’s such stiff tulle and it’s been folded up in a cute little baggie since the 1940’s so it seriously won’t unbend. oh well, I still dig it and feel confident I can create some awesome photos with it. I like the stoic, kinda of gothic nature of this photo.

took a photo adventure on saturday to see if we could find this incredible abandonded schoolhouse out in Govan WA. thankfully it was still standing and in really good condition even. the stairs were gone and the porch are was totally dodgy but the floors inside were very sturdy. I’ll post some shots of the inside on my blog tomorrow night, too much to do tonight to get to it. plus I’d really rather just take a bath. :)
