I’ve really been hating my selfies for a long time now. they’re so much harder than simply taking photos of another person which I’d much rather do, hands down. but I still love the spontaneity of selfies. just taking off on your own to create something, so I vowed to get out this past weekend and shoot some selfies outside (everything inside I completely hated) and to use my 50mm. another thing I haven’t done in a while. the weather was wonderful and finally felt like Spring. it was good to be out in it.

well, here’s to gettin’ back into it. :)

I’ve been wainting to shoot something with this sculpture for a long time. I just love it’s odd whimsicalness~ I felt it worked it’s curious magic for this shot and played well against Samm’s perfect anxious expression. it was so cold out that day. you can see the frost on the ground.

I’ve been utterly inspired by the work of Alex Prager within the past several months and I wanted to create some images along similar lines. it took me a while to gather the perfect vintage wardrobe and prop purse but I finally pulled it all together and shot it with a great team last weekend. I really love shooting in the Olympic Sculpture Park and knew this was the perfect location for this shoot. The ultra modern buildings play against the retro-ness of her outfit and the theme so wonderfully. there will be a few more images to come from this shoot but I wanted to start with a classic “Birds” styled image just to set the proper suspensful tone for all the images.
